Above all, in teaching I try to make learning fun and something people care deeply about for their own personal growth and benefit.  I try to help reveal the intrinsic rewards of learning  (such as gaining a deeper, richer understanding of the world and teaching students to surpass what they think they are capable of) rather than focusing on extrinsic rewards.

I am always trying out new ways of teaching. At Hamilton, I received a SHINE grant to incorporate service learning into my courses.  You can also see my Hamilton students’ blogposts on Race, Class, & Gender and the Sacred in Society.
